BJN Award Winners 2013

BJN Award Winners 2013 Flexicare were very proud to sponsor the Continence and Urology Nurse of the year Awards for the third year running. This is part of the British Journal of Nursing awards night, which includes 13 awards in total.   The event was effortlessly and charmingly hosted by Ester Rantzen. The setting was equally appropriate; Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Celebrating all that is good in the great British Institution that is the NHS, in arguably Britain's most celebrated individual's spiritual home. RCN Birmingham 2012

On 16th November 2012 the Flexicare Urology team attended the RCN Continence Care Conference and Exhibition in Birmingham. The meeting was very successful from Flexicare's perspective as it was an opportunity for the newly expanded Urology team to network with a large number of customers. There was a lot of interest shown in the new range of products offered by Flexicare. The new E-Z Flow catheter valve, the new improved Urine meter and the catheters, both Foley and intermittent, that Flexicare are about to launch. The stand was busy throughout the day with over  120 people entering  a competition for an I-Pod,  the winner, Jose Espinosa from Epsom, can be seen receiving his prize from local Territory Manager James Watkins.

BJN Award Winners 2011

BJN Award Winners 2011 Rotherham Continence Service Medicines Management Team was awarded the BJN Continence Nursing Award for their work implementing a centralised approach to the prescribing of continence products. The new service model achieved significant improvements in the quality of continence care delivered to their patients using continence products and enabled the team to achieve cost savings which reflect the effectiveness of the prescribing decisions made by the nurses within the team. Paediatric Simulation Centre Unveiled

Paediatric Simulation Centre Unveiled Mr Jamie Roberts, medical student and Welsh rugby star opened the new paediatric simulation centre at Cardiff University Hospital on the14th October. Jamie will be using the centre himself as a student in the very near future. Let's hope that we can provide him and all of the other medical students using the simulator with the very best educational experience.   The opening ceremony allowed key people in the University to discuss their plans for the future.  Professor John Bligh talked about the medical undergraduate curriculum for the 21st Century and the importance of skills and simulation education for the future.
