Flexicare have developed a range of Fixed PEEP (Fixed Positive
End Expiratory Pressure) valves providing for the clinician
to
prescribe a given maximum pressure for the patients requirement.
The valves are color coded and denote the pre-determined
fixed value of PEEP.
The PEEP valve is fitted to a
specially designed CPAP mask on the lower expiratory port to allow
expired gases to be exhaled via
fixed value exhalation port .

Previously the only method for ventilation involved the
patient being sedated and intubated. However, with
positive pressure, patients with respiratory failure or lung
disease can benefit from NIV as this negates the need for
intubation and the associated risks outside of the Intensive Care
department and for some patients needing long term support, this
can be administered in the home environment as well. |
The Flexicare CPAP Mask is specifically designed to create a
good seal when fitted to the patient whilst providing maximum
comfort during use.

| The CPAP Mask Headstrap is adjustable to accommodate patients
requirements with equal interval placements to ensure comfort
whilst providing a secure fit. The soft silicone HeadStrap has
rounded edges to maximise patient comfort over prolonged periods of
use. |
